Our Team and Our Story

Astha Berry is the founder of Liberry. Growing up, her favorite place was the library.  In her hometown of Franklin, Wisconsin, the public library offered books, DVDs, CDs, and even children's toys for check-out.  She visited the library nearly every day, using it for research, resources, entertainment, and support from the community. She believed - and still believes - the libraries are magical and everyone deserves access to one.

As Astha began exploring the start-up world, her north star was how to help make parents' lives easier - and eventually create a company that could employ mothers hoping to re-enter the workforce (a struggle she saw her own mother experience).

Through countless interviews with moms, Astha understood their pain points and where they needed the most support...and thus Liberry was born.

For Astha, Liberry is her baby and she's fully devoted to helping the company grow.

 Fun Facts:

- Astha reads 150 - 200 books per year - if you'd like a book recommendation or have a recommendation for her - please share!

- She loves sustainable fashion and has either rented, borrowed, or thrifted nearly every item of clothing for over a decade.

- She has always wanted to design her own baby clothing line

We are currently very lean in a team of just one.  We have an excellent panel of advisors and mentors through Wharton, including Professor Tyler Wry.

Our Roadmap

Liberry is just as nascent as the babies we hope to serve. While we have collected much information and developed various ideas, there is still a long road ahead.  Like any good parent would, we too are meticulously planning our next steps and preparing for our next milestones.  Here is what we are expecting...

Customer Validation Interviews and Surveys

Dozens of Interviews have validated just how overwhelming, time-consuming, and wasteful it is to continuously shop for a little one. Qualitative and quantitative "in the wild" Facebook surveys from different "Mom groups" provided insight into which products they prefer and why.
